The cohorts of Hoʻokōnaʻauao established by Hanona Kūlike o Piʻilani is rooted in the ʻike kupuna (ancestral knowledge) of hale builder, Francis Palani Sinenci; archaeologist, Tanya Lee Greig; and kumu hula, Kaponoʻai Molitau.

The cohort members and hālau participants will maintain this newfound ʻike carried through the next seven generations.
